The FIDE is a federation of national associations of the Study of European Law which meet every two years to prepare a Congress, the next being in Linz (Austria) at the end of May (see: http://www.fide2008.org/).

The Spanish Association is the AEDE (Asociación Española para el Estudio del Derecho Europeo) and it is the Spanish member of the FIDE.

The AEDE will take charge of the organisation of the Congress of FIDE in 2010 which will take place in Madrid. The President Juan Nuñez, in the capacity of a member of the AEDE, will propose the participation in the FIDE Congress of 2010 in Madrid, as well as the inclusion of the AEA-EAL as a member of the FIDE, which currently does not seem to be foreseen in its statutes but can be envisaged.
