AEA-EAL New Technologies Committee Hosted Webinar on Recent Developments in EU AI Regulation

On 15 June 2026, the New Technologies Committee of the European Association of Lawyers (AEA-EAL) organized an online webinar dedicated to the evolving European regulatory framework for artificial intelligence.

The session, titled “AI Act and Digital Omnibus on AI,” was delivered by Adriana Jarczyńska, Attorney-at-law in Poland and member of the New Technologies Committees of both the Białystok Bar Association and AEA-EAL. Ms. Jarczyńska specializes in data protection, artificial intelligence and ethics, holds AIGP and CIPP/E certifications, and obtained an LL.M. in International Commercial Law and New Technologies Law from Kozminski University.

During the webinar, participants explored the most recent developments concerning the EU AI Act and the preliminary proposals included in the Digital Omnibus on AI. Particular attention was given to the envisaged amendments to the existing framework and their practical consequences for providers and deployers of AI systems operating within the European Union.

The discussion also addressed selected examples of the proposed changes, including the postponement of compliance deadlines applicable to high-risk AI systems. In addition, attendees received an overview of the forthcoming second Omnibus package – the Digital Omnibus on Data – and its implications for the GDPR, the Data Act and the Data Governance Act.

The webinar provided AEA-EAL members with valuable insights into the future direction of EU digital regulation and offered an opportunity to better understand the challenges and opportunities arising from the rapidly developing legal framework governing artificial intelligence and data.

AEA-EAL extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Iain Mitchell KC, Chair of the New Technologies Committee, for organizing this timely event, and to Ms. Adriana Jarczyńska for sharing her expertise and leading an engaging and informative discussion. The Association also thanks all participants for their active interest and contribution to the success of the webinar.
